Three different approximation schemes are defined for enhancing the capabilities of volumetric resampling filters. First, quasi-interpolating and interpolating discrete prefilters are derived for the DC-splines. Then, discrete prefilters are designed for minimizing the error of the gradient reconstruction.

Finally, an efficient technique is proposed that enables real-time interpolation between different resampling schemes. The proposed techniques are evaluated also in terms of signal processing.
